APK Sideloading via Third-Party Sources
Detection
Presence of installer files (.apk) in Downloads folder; apps installed from unknown sources outside Google Play Store.
Fix (technical)
In Google Family Link, select child \> Controls \> (siehe ui_strings_ref). Block file manager apps and browser downloads if necessary8.
Fix (relational)
Educate on mobile security, warning against downloading unverified software that could contain malware or adware.
Residual risk
User with developer privileges or unmonitored file managers may attempt manual package execution.
