Family Link used outside supported device scope
Detection
An iPhone, iPad, Windows/Mac/Linux computer, or school-managed account appears in the child’s actual device/use inventory.
Fix (technical)
Google states that iPhones, iPads and non-Chromebook computers cannot be supervised with Family Link; Google Workspace for Education accounts cannot be managed by Family Link. Use the native control system for that device or document the gap. [google-family-link-getting-started]
Fix (relational)
Ask the child to help list the devices and accounts they use for school, leisure and relatives’ homes.
Residual risk
A device inventory must be reviewed whenever the child gains access to a new device.
